Colonel John Boggs, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret.)
The pressure at the top is real.
Leaders are expected to have the answers, set the tone, and carry the weight—often without trusted counsel or meaningful feedback. Many plateau, lose their edge, or burn out. And the higher they go, the fewer people are willing to challenge them or tell them the truth.
That’s the leadership gap Colonel John Boggs helps close.
John believes leadership isn’t about titles or bravado—it’s about clarity, accountability, and the courage to grow. Even the most capable leaders need space to reflect, speak candidly, and be challenged by someone who’s been there. Someone who understands the weight of command—and what it takes to grow under pressure.
As a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer, John is one of the few leaders to have commanded at every rank. He’s led combat-ready units, taught at the Marine Corps’ most elite training institutions, and served in key strategic roles including Chief of Staff at the National Defense University, where he helped shape the education of our nation’s most senior military and civilian leaders.
But his impact doesn’t stop with the military. John also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officerfor a major nonprofit focused on expanding college access for underserved youth in Washington, D.C. He has advised university presidents, coached high-level executives, and helped entire leadership teams navigate transitions, overcome internal friction, and rebuild trust.
Today, John is the founder and president of Fortitude Consulting, LLC, a certified SDVOSB and SBA 8(a) leadership development firm. With a national team of expert coaches, John delivers leadership transformation through executive coaching, custom-built programs, and immersive leadership intensives. His clients span industries—from federal agencies and Fortune 500s to fast-growing companies and purpose-driven nonprofits.
John’s approach is grounded in respect, realism, and results. He tells the truth leaders need to hear—without judgment or ego—and gives them the tools to act with precision, conviction, and impact.
Because leadership isn’t about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about being the most responsible.
And leadership is too important to get wrong.
John lives in Phoenix, Arizona, and coaches leaders nationwide. He’s known for his candor, wisdom, and ability to make even the toughest leadership lessons stick.
